A word from our Chairman

Scottish Aid to Eastern Europe is a non-profit-making Christian organisation recognised by HM Revenue and Customs as a Charity in the United Kingdom. (Scottish Charity Number SCO32485). The charity’s affairs are managed by four trustees.

Scottish Aid to Eastern Europe was formed by trust deed and entered on the Scottish Charity Index in November 2001.

As you will see from the images throughout our website, over the years, we have donated humanitarian aid in the form of warm clothing, bedding, medicines and medical equipment to the sick, poor, needy and elderly in Romania.

We have also donated Christian literature, toys, building materials and a range of household goods to many places across the country.

Our policy is to arrange delivery of aid precisely to the point of need and not deposit items in stores or other intermediate locations where things can be stolen, sold or placed in the hands of unscrupulous individuals or groups. We accompany our Romanian co-workers when distributing the aid.

On our return to Scotland, presentations are given to donors, sponsors and any other interested parties. This forms an interesting and rewarding part of our work throughout the year. Should you wish a presentation for your church fellowship, group, club or company, please e-mail me direct.

I commend the work of Scottish Aid to Eastern Europe to you and thank you for visiting our site. I hope you find it challenging and interesting.

Dr Gordon Lyon
Chairman of Trustees
